Note that there are additional listed resources that are significant for association with African American heritage in Georgia, but they are listed under other areas of significance.”

As Georgia’s state historic preservation office (SHPO), the Historic Preservation Division (HPD) administers the National Register of Historic Places program in Georgia.
To be considered eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), a building, structure, object, site, or district must generally be at least fifty years of age, meet one of four criteria for evaluation, and retain historical integrity.
